October 30, 2011 | By Andro ID

Acer Android added to the line-up by announcing the launch of the Acer Liquid Metal. Share some similarities with the basic form the original Liquid, Liquid Metal is more fashionable with subtle curves, chrome trim, and stainless steel back door.

This device is also very media-friendly thanks to a built-in support for Flash, Xvid video playback, audio with Dolby Surround EQ profiles and Dynamic Bass Boost. And just for the heck of it, Liquid Metal supports DLNA / UPnP to share or control the media from phone to PC or other compatible devices.

Liquid Metal also packs some powerful statistical internally. Devices running the Qualcomm 7230 800 MHz processor, Android 2.2, and HSDPA connectivity that supports up to 14.4 Mbps download. A 5 megapixel camera can take photos with auto-focus, image stabilization, face recognition and smile, and LED Flash. It records 720p HD video at 30fps.

All this and more is available with Acer UI "Breeze" that puts more information on the lock screen, switch between applications that are more elegant, get more customization options from the homescreen, and the Facebook and Twitter feeds with special widgets.

Acer plans to sell the Liquid Metal to 299 pounds brown, come mid-November, or silver, which arrived in stores in December.
