Acer quietly in front of the Android for a while. Acer beTouch E400 is a mid-range Android phone with 600MHz CPU, 3.2-inch resistive touchscreen, and a 3.2 megapixel camera. These phones running Android 2.1 and already up for pre-orders for UK consumers. The phone is available SIM-free for £ 264.99 at Expansys. Other features include an FM radio, 512 MB of storage, 256MB of RAM, and a built-in Office Document Editor for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Acer beTouch E110 also for pre-order on Expansys. The 110 pictures only cost 159.99 pounds bigger, but you will give up quite a bit for this phone. Processing power fell to 400MHz, ships with Android 1.5, and only has 256MB of storage space. This is definitely NOT for power users as its specs are less interesting than the first Android phone that debuted 17 months earlier. E110 can be interesting if you want a cheap phone with more virtue than the average phone feature, but all others must achieve something different. Full specification available here.
