even if it is under-clocked to 768 MHz. That still makes it the fastest processor available for an Android-based device, and we’d jump at the chance to get our hands on one. With local 3G. So, if those 850 and 1900 bands now attached to the Acer Liquid A1, we might see that happen sooner than we could have ever hoped. Of course, just because it’s passed the FCC with the appropriate 3G bands, doesn’t mean this is an official announcement from Acer, AT&T, or the FCC. This is just speculation, with a speck of confirmation to sweeten the deal.
A quick refresher: Acer Liquid has a 3.5″ WVGA capacitive touchscreen, WiFi, GPS, and is running Android 1.6, or Donut. It’s also got some software/UI additions, made by Acer. Finally, a 5MP camera with autofocus.
This isn’t the only Android device whispered about heading to AT&T, but if it comes down to one of them, we’ll put our hopes and dreams with the Liquid. As was aforementioned, there isn’t any word on when this device could see US shores, or if it ever really will, but this is a good sign. If anything, a good start to something that could lead to a good sign (come on, AT&T). And like a lot of other Android-based phones set to release “soon”, we’ll just have to live our lives by an old saying: “Patience is a virtue.” How’s that working out for you?
