November 01, 2011 | By Andro ID

ASUS in their press event showing off a lot of different flavors and tablet devices. One of them's got a sort of flying over the 7-inch ASUS Eee Memo Pad that run Android and can be used with a stylus.

ASUS Johnney Shih showing off the device and provide a demo of the stylus on the touch screen capabilities. Not much we know about the device other than Phandroid reported that it was to house a 1GHz Snapdragon processor dual-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm 8260 processor. They also said that "[they] think that is a resistive touch screen", but can be very good (read, better) with capacitive capacitive stylus. They are still waiting for a press release to confirm anything and when they get it they will let everyone know.

ASUS must say though, after a delusional idea Courier Microsoft end of 2009, ASUS and many others want to see a few companies pulling off a full touch and stylus-based interface. Seriously, just watch videos Courier and make the device. Simple, done. They are very doubtful that the ASUS device, but at least it shows to ASUS that with some creativity and usability built in, styli are not dead.

There are some more specs revealed as a screen resolution of 1024 × 600 on, Qualcomm 8260 1.2GHz dual-core, dual camera (1.2MP front and rear 5MP), will run Android 3.0, and features an application called Media Note that has "scrap-booking and recording capabilities. "Looks like Memo may be available this summer. We'll look at it.
